Posted on 02/19/2016

House Bill (HB) 1842 is comprehensive legislation related to district, charter schools, and campuses, specifically campus turnaround plans. When a campus has not met the state accountability standard for two consecutive years’ that campus must develop and submit to the agency a turnaround plan explaining the campus’ systemic approach to producing significant and sustainable gains in achievement and a Met Standard rating within the next two years.

The following Aldine ISD schools have been identified as Improvement Required (IR) for multiple years and are now in the process of creating a turnaround plan. Your input is a valuable part of the development of these Turnaround Plans.

  • Caraway Intermediate Improvement Required (IR) Year 2
  • Nimitz High School Improvement Required (IR) Year 3
  • Smith Academy Improvement Required (IR) Year 3

The purpose of this form is to obtain input from parents, community members, teachers and other staff members on the campus Turnaround Plan.
